Jiyun Nam, PsyD

Dr. Nam grew up in Korea and came to the U.S. in her early 20s to explore diverse experiences. Driven by her passion for creative arts and helping others, she pursued studies in Studio Art (B.A.), Art Therapy Counseling (M.A.), and Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). Throughout her career, she has gained extensive clinical experience, serving individuals of all ages in a variety of settings, including schools, community organizations, and psychiatric, medical, and forensic hospitals.

Dr. Nam currently focuses on treating individuals in the Asian American community, who often face challenges in finding mental health service providers with appropriate cultural knowledge, awareness, and responsiveness. She is committed to providing a secure and nurturing environment through a culturally sensitive and nonjudgmental approach, fostering strong therapeutic relationships with her clients. Fluent in both Korean and English, she offers bilingual clinical services.

Dr. Nam also has a unique interest in serving neurodivergent individuals. She specializes in developmental and neurodiversity assessment. For children with limited language skills, she incorporates non-verbal approaches including art, game, and play in order to engage and assess them.
